Estimation of Serum Alkaline Phosphatase, Total Calcium and Urinary Hydroxyproline as Bone turn over marker in Post-Menopausal women in Tertiary care Hospital

Background: Osteoporosis is one of the prevalent diseases post-Menopausal women. Hence to evaluate severity osteoporosis serum calcium, ALP and urinary hydroxyproline used as bone resorption marker.Method: 30 post-menopausal women with were compared healthy pre-menopausal 25-40 years Random Blood sample collected from venipuncture centrifuged get serum. Fasting Urine was 1.2 drops 6 N HCI added preservative. The parameter between preand post menopausal were, alkaline phosphatase, total protein, Albumin, test included Hydroxyproline,creatinine results noted.Results: Comparison S. S.alkalinePhosphatase, Protein,S. Albumin Urinary hydroxyproline. creatinine every parameters had highly significant p value (p<0.001).Conclusion: These demonstrate that biochemical markers turn over like calcium provide dynamic measure remodelling helps predict changes in mass fracture risk
